========================================================================================== In the Name of God Amen, I Joshua Bass of the County of Southampton being in perfect health and of Sound Disposing mind and Memory Praise to the Almighty God for it; but knowing the uncertainty pf our being do this my Last will & Testament as followeth Disannulling and revoking all of the will or wills heretofore made by me Item, I give & bequeath my soul to god that gave it me Relying on the merits of my beloved Savior to have full Remission of all my sins and my body to the Earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named Item, I give and bequeath to Thomas Bass son of Arthur Bass five pounds Cash to him and his heirs ~~~~~~ Item, I give and bequeath to Burgess Bass son of Hardy Bass call the residue of my estate to him and his heirs I do Nominate & Appoint my friend Lewis Thorp sole executor of this my last will & Testament. Also, I give and bequeath to my son William Barnes The plantation & Lands which I purchased of Joshua Johnson containing by estimation two hundred and ten acres, bounded and described as by the said Johnson deed to me is expressed Likewise the plantation and lands which I lately bought of the window of Richard Ricks dec.ͩ supposed to contain six hundred seventy three acres more or less mentioned bounded and described as by indenture from William Thomas John Thomas Blow Robert Ricks & Joseph Ricks, executors of the aforesaid Rich ͩ Ricks dec.ͩ to me is capressed? & declared also one negro boy called Moses two Cows & calves one Ewe & Lamb two Sows & one featherbed & furniture Yen pounds value in Pewter one flagg bottom setting chair to him and his heirs & assigns forever Also I give devise and bequeath unto my son Jacob Barnes the plantation & Lands which I bought of Richard Johnson containing by estimation Two hundred Twenty and five acres Likewise all the remainder of my lands lying on the broad swamp flaggy Run & the horsepen branch, being the whole of two tracts one purchased of ~~~~ Arthur Allen containing Two hundred acres more or less the other of Nathan Johnson containing One hundred acres or less, the whole of The said three tracts and mesuges? of land being Sevnally? and distinelly? bounded and described by three sconal? deeds for the same from the aforesaid Rich ͩ Johnson Arthur Allen & Matthew Johnson, to me, also after the death of my wife The plantation & lands whereon I live containing by estimation Two hundred acres, also all my Lands known by the name of the pine woods containing by estimation one hundred acres & bounded by the Lands of Albridgston Jones Jordan Denson, Jacob Jenkins, Lewis Joyner & also one negro Girl called Jude one Featherbed & Furniture two Cows & calves two sows and piggs one Ewe and Laamb Ten pounds value in pewter six flax bottom setting chairs and one Iron pott the whol to him and to his heirs and assigns forever also one sorrel colt called blaze.
